Выделения Kindle: как найти, посмотреть и экспортировать

Kindle highlights are the passages you mark while reading. Amazon keeps them in up to four places, each showing a different subset, and none of them exports everything at once. Here is where each one lives, what it leaves out, and how to bring them all together.

Short answer: on a Kindle, tap the top of the screen and open the Annotation Notebook. For every book at once, sign in at read.amazon.com/notebook.

How to view highlights on your Kindle

  1. 1Open the book.
  2. 2Tap the top of the screen to show the toolbar.
  3. 3Tap the Annotation Notebook icon. On older software, tap Go To and then the Notes tab.
  4. 4The list opens at the highlights, notes and bookmarks nearest your current page. Scroll through it, or tap any entry to jump to that place in the book.

Since software 5.19.2 (February 2026) the notebook has a filter to show only highlights, notes or bookmarks. A Kindle Colorsoft can also filter by highlight colour, and Kindle Scribes from 2025 on can sort by date. Searching inside a book also finds matches in your notes and highlights. The notebook shows one book at a time; for every book at once, use Amazon's notebook page below.

The Kindle Oasis never got the late-2025 redesign, so it keeps the older menus: Go To, then Notes.

How to view Kindle highlights online at read.amazon.com

  1. 1Go to read.amazon.com/notebook and sign in with the Amazon account your Kindle is registered to.
  2. 2Your books are listed down the left.
  3. 3Click a book to see its highlights, in their colours, with your notes underneath and the location of each.

This is the only place that shows every book at once, but it only shows books from the Kindle store, bought or borrowed. Personal documents, sideloaded books and books from a different country's store are not there. Each store has its own address:

Amazon renamed Kindle Cloud Reader to Kindle for Web. Inside the reader at read.amazon.com, the Notebook icon at the top shows the open book's highlights, where you can edit a note (pencil) or delete a highlight (bin).

How to view highlights in the Kindle app

iPhone, iPad and Android

  1. 1Open the book and tap the middle of the page to show the menus.
  2. 2On iPhone and iPad, tap the three dots at the top, then Annotations. On Android, tap the Notes icon.
  3. 3Tap an entry to jump to it, or use Share to email yourself the book's notebook.

Windows and Mac

Open the book and press Ctrl+N on Windows or Cmd+B on a Mac to open the notebook. On a Mac, Export Notes (Cmd+Option+E) emails you the book's notebook. The old Kindle for PC app is no longer supported as of 30 June 2026; its replacement, Kindle for Windows, needs Windows 11.

Like the device, the app shows one book at a time, and Amazon's export sends one book per email.

Highlights in personal documents and sideloaded books

Books you added to your Kindle yourself are not at read.amazon.com/notebook, and Kindle for Web does not open personal documents yet. If you sent them with Send to Kindle, their highlights still sync between your Kindles and the Kindle app. If you copied them over USB, the highlights exist only on that Kindle. Either way, they are in the book's notebook and in one file on the device:

  1. 1Connect the Kindle to a computer with its USB cable.
  2. 2Open the Kindle, then the documents folder, and copy My Clippings.txt.
  3. 3Open it in any text editor. Every highlight, note and bookmark from every book is in it, oldest first, separated by lines of equals signs.

Kindles released in 2024 and every Kindle Scribe connect as a media device rather than a drive. On Windows they appear in File Explorer as usual; on a Mac you need Amazon's Send to Kindle app and its USB File Manager.

What is My Clippings.txt? explains the file line by line, including the clipping limit that replaces some highlights with a placeholder.

Kindle Scribe notes and highlights

On a Kindle Scribe, the notebook view collects highlights, underlines, handwritten sticky notes, typed notes and notes written in the margin or on a Canvas. To send them somewhere, open the notebook, tap Share and email the book's notes to yourself; handwritten notebooks can be converted to text or a searchable PDF on the way. The Kindle app shows handwritten notes but cannot edit them, and underlines do not appear on Amazon's web notebook unless the passage is also highlighted.

Kindle highlights on Goodreads

  1. 1Link your Amazon account to Goodreads.
  2. 2On Goodreads, open My Books, then Your Reading Activity, then Kindle Notes & Highlights.
  3. 3Choose a book. Highlights are private until you make them visible, one by one or all at once.

Only Kindle-store books appear, and only when Goodreads has the same edition; switch editions if a book is missing. Be careful: deleting a highlight on Goodreads deletes it from your Kindle too, and cannot be undone.

How to export all your Kindle highlights

Clippings.io reads from two of those places, the Amazon notebook page and My Clippings.txt, merges them into one searchable library and exports it wherever you keep your notes.

  1. 1

Import from Amazon with the browser extension

Install the Clippings.io extension for Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Brave, open read.amazon.com/notebook and click Import. It collects every book's highlights and notes, picks out only books with new highlights on later runs, and can sync automatically while your browser is open. Thirteen Amazon stores are supported.

  2. 2

Upload My Clippings.txt for everything else

Copy the file from the Kindle over USB and upload it, or upload the notebook export the Kindle app emailed you. Clippings.io splits it back into books, keeps personal documents, and removes duplicates against what the extension already imported.

  3. 3

    Export

Export your whole library, one book, a tag or a search to Notion, Markdown, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, OneNote, Evernote, Word, Excel, PDF, Text, EPUB, JSON, OpenDocument Text or OpenDocument Spreadsheet. Every destination remembers what it has already received, so re-exports send only what is new.

Kindle highlights questions

How do I see all my Kindle highlights?
Sign in at read.amazon.com/notebook with the Amazon account your Kindle uses. It lists every Kindle-store book you have highlighted, with the highlights, their colours and your notes. On the Kindle itself, open a book, tap the top of the screen and tap the Annotation Notebook icon, which shows that one book's highlights, notes and bookmarks.
How do I view my Kindle highlights on my phone?
In the Kindle app, open the book and tap the middle of the page. On iPhone and iPad, tap the three dots at the top, then Annotations; on Android, tap the Notes icon. Highlights you made on your Kindle appear there once both have synced, except for books you copied to the Kindle over USB.
Where does my Kindle store highlights?
In up to four places. On the Kindle itself, in each book's notebook and in a file called My Clippings.txt. On Amazon's servers, shown at read.amazon.com/notebook, for books bought from the Kindle store. In the Kindle app's notebook on your phone, tablet or computer. And on Goodreads, if you have linked your Amazon account.
Why are some of my highlights missing from read.amazon.com/notebook?
That page only shows books bought from the Amazon store you are signed in to. Highlights in personal documents, sideloaded books and books from a different Amazon store are not there. They are in My Clippings.txt on the Kindle, and in the notebook page of the store you bought them from, such as read.amazon.co.uk/notebook.
Why does my Kindle say I have reached the clipping limit?
Publishers can cap how much of a book may be copied out. Once you pass that cap, new highlights still show inside the book, but My Clippings.txt records the line 'You have reached the clipping limit for this item' instead of the text. The Amazon notebook page is not affected by the cap, which is why Clippings.io imports from there first.
How do I get highlights from books I did not buy on Amazon?
Plug the Kindle into a computer with its USB cable, open the Kindle drive, then the documents folder, and copy My Clippings.txt. Every highlight, note and bookmark from every book, including personal documents, is in that one text file. Upload it to Clippings.io and it is split back into books and deduplicated against anything you already imported.
How do I export all my Kindle highlights at once?
Sign up to Clippings.io, install the browser extension, open read.amazon.com/notebook and click Import. The extension collects every book's highlights and notes. Add My Clippings.txt for anything not on Amazon, then export the whole library, one book, or a search to Evernote, Notion, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, OneNote, Word, Excel, PDF, Markdown, EPUB, JSON or plain text. Importing and browsing are free; the free plan cuts each exported highlight to 100 characters and the professional plan removes the limit.
Does this work outside the United States?
Yes. The browser extension has a store picker covering amazon.com, .co.uk, .de, .fr, .es, .it, .nl, .ca, .com.mx, .com.br, .com.au, .in and .co.jp, and My Clippings.txt is the same file on every Kindle.
